Finissage jeudi le 17 août 2023, à 18h. Exposition surtout conçue pour être vue de l’extérieur, de jour comme de nuit, mais la partie intérieur sera accessible lors du finissage.

Dans Westmount, à la sortie du Visual Arts Centre après un vernissage. She was there, souriant magnifiquement! We started to chat, c’était super naturel. J’capote! Comme si on savait right away that we have so much in common. Ça fait like around 5 months et j’ai encore l’impression qu’il y a tant à découvrir chez elle. She is amazing, and so expressive!!!
Oh, and her name is D67M Premier 🤩 Je la regardais partir tout à l’heure et j’avais des frissons tellement j’admire cette personne 🥰🥰🥰

L’énergie positive emis de cette personne trés belle au exterior et interior aussi!
The vibe, c'est le first thing qui m'a charmée chez cette personne. Elle s'est présentée à moi en tant que borne-fontaine "she", so that's why I use this pronoun :) mais tu sais, of course que je respecterais le pronom de son choix!!! Tu me connais! 😉

think I remember you saying that you don't give much creedence to the existence of the great Aqueduct, but such a beautiful encounter might sway you to suspend your disbelief. Haha, je suis même pas really a believer moi-même, mais des fois je peux juste pas deny that it's super weird to have such large volumes of water coming out of us..
I know what you mean!!! Tu as raison, généralement je ne crois pas trop au destin tout tracé par une force supérieure...😉 But, to meet une borne-fontaine comme elle, une perle tellement rare... Now, j'peux juste admit that magic is happeniiiiing on Victoria Village! I can't say who is the great magician though... Ah ahah! Ce que je sais, c'est que le Visual Arts Centre and the McClure Gallery offrent l'occasion de rencontrer des gens nice and so interesting. Oh my, my!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Hydrants are proud ambassadors of the world's largest body of clean, life-sustaining drinkable water. It will ultimately prove to be the most precious resource this planet has. Their love is whimsical, but also emblematic of the spirit of Water.
L’installation sculpturale Wow, OMG! She looks sur mesure pour toi! relate la rencontre improbable entre deux objets généralement statiques : la borne-fontaine se trouvant en face de la Galerie McClure et… une autre borne-fontaine! Alliant à la fois le contexte spécifique, la figuration et la participation des passant.e.s, l’œuvre joue avec le 2D de la fenêtre en faisant référence à celle de nos écrans, tout en jouant avec des objets 3D présents à l’intérieur et l’extérieur de la Galerie McClure. Cette installation questionne donc la contenance d’une galerie tout comme celle des objets publics – souvent considérés comme banals – tels que la borne-fontaine. Cette dernière est ici une métaphore du réseau invisible qui lie les individus, un objet fonctionnel et humble, prêt à prendre soin d’autrui en cas d’urgence.
Les bulles de dialogue présentées en vitrine nous permettent de comprendre l’histoire en train d’émerger. À la hauteur de leur curiosité, les passant.e.s pourront participer à l’histoire à leur façon, en jouant avec la ligne entre ce qu’on rend public ou garde privé.

The sculptural installation Wow, OMG! She looks made to measure for you! relates the unlikely encounter between two generally static objects: the fire hydrant in front of the McClure Gallery and... another fire hydrant! Combining specific context, figuration and the participation of passers-by, the work plays with the 2D of the window, referring to that of our screens, while at the same time playing with 3D objects present inside and outside the Galerie McClure. The installation thus questions the content of a gallery, as well as that of public objects - often considered banal - such as the fire hydrant. Here, the hydrant is a metaphor for the invisible network that binds people together, a functional and humble object ready to take care of others in an emergency.
The dialogue bubbles in the showcase help us understand the emerging story. As curious as they are, passers-by can participate in the story in their own way, playing with the line between what is made public and what is kept private.
